Amethyst is a popular stone known for its healing qualities. Most Amethyst comes in a rich purple color, but it can be as light as a lilac or even as deep as a black and all the colors in between. It is a great stone to help calm the mind and spirit, which is a great tool to use with mediation.

This stone is good to keep peace and harmony at home, absorbs stress and promotes good sleep. Amethyst does this by producing a calming effect to the mind and stimulating the body, which helps keep you focused and aware of their surroundings. Due to its calming effects, this stone can also help with Insomnia, and some say it can even help with sobriety.

It can have some protection qualities as well and for some it’s a symbol of wealth, luxury, ambition and success.

You can cleanse an Amethyst with water, smoke, earth and even energy (Selenite/Satin Spar Slab or wand). You can even bury it into a bowl of brown rice, as rice will often absorb negative energy. It can be cleansed and charged via moonlight; the sun will diminish its beautiful colors.
